What's in Selkie

Short answer: sea moss, burdock root, bladderwrack, and a phospholipid absorption complex, in a liquid. No fillers and no added sugar.

Per serving (one 2mL dropper)

  • Irish sea moss (30:1 extract): 1,000mg. A whole-food marine source of trace minerals, grown in seawater.†
  • Burdock root: 250mg. A root with a long history as an everyday tonic in Irish and wider Western herbal tradition.†
  • Bladderwrack: 250mg. A brown seaweed and a natural source of iodine, which your thyroid uses to make its hormones.†
  • Phospholipid absorption complex: 50mg. See below.†

The full Supplement Facts panel is printed on the bottle.

What "30:1" means

It takes 30 parts of dried sea moss to make 1 part of extract. The ratio is printed on the label so you know what you are taking from one bottle to the next, which most sea moss gels and capsules do not tell you.

What the phospholipid complex is for

Phospholipids are the same kind of molecule your cell membranes are made from. In Selkie they act as a carrier for the botanical ingredients, rather than the ingredients simply sitting in liquid. That is what "liposomal" on the label refers to.†

What is not in it

No fillers, no added sugar, no caffeine and no stimulants.

Allergies

If you have a known sensitivity to seaweed or iodine, see Iodine and your thyroid and check with your doctor before taking Selkie.
